First, considering that Dulux have brought out an automatic paint feed roller the original Paint Runner is expensive for what it is. From my experience, using a good quality paint, I found that I had to use the roller on a sheet of newspaper for 3 minutes before the paint came through. I also, found that even though the roller did not drip it did produce tiny pinhead droplets of paint which would ruin draylon material. I would highly recommend covering carpets and furniture. The additional edging tool is useless and the postage, if not free, is rediculous. In my opinion, it is good but it still needs loads of cleaning when the job is done. Maybe my paint was too good for it?

More mess than using a pad, after trying to use it found the top snaps, I found it was easier to use a pad. you have to water the paint down, pole is flimsey.
paint runner not the easiest of tools! May 23, 2008 29 out of 29 found this review helpful
this item works very well on simple plastered walls but if like me you are trying to paint on blown vinyl or other textured surfaces it becomes very labour intensive as you need to use quite a bit of pressure and the roller is quite heavy when loaded. The edging tool also performs poorly on these surfaces i found a small roller much more practical for edging. I had no difficulty getting the paint to come throuh the roller as i used B&Qs cheap paint i did not need to water it down as it was quite thin already like the consistancy of cold tinned custard . I did however find that it covered evenly and i only needed one coat which was good, another plus was that it did not drip and i was able to leave furniture etc uncovered.

This is probably the worst 'labour saving' and 'time saving' gadget I have ever purchased. The paint either would not pass through the roller when undiluted, or poured through the roller when diluted according to manufacturers instuctions. I have consigned it to the rubbish skip where it belongs. In the time it would have taken to get the paint to the correct consistency I could have painted the room with an artists brush!
