1 out of 5 stars Powerball Fun but, Don't believe the hype   September 14, 2008

The powerball good idea as TOY, most people will use it will think this thing is amazing, But it is just a Toy the RSI element is just the company trying to sell more of them. What with the Powerball so logo so perdomiantly showing on the band around it if Flashing light is not enought for you.

Also it is bad if you drop it on a concrete floor. It going crack the led screen. Also trying to start it with out a string once you lost it behind the crouch it will give you blister when, I first tried to get it going without a string my fingers were raw and aching. Maybe that was just me being too hard.

NEVER open it up and lubicate the thing other wise you going have a very lame powerball. When I did this it made the powerball all loose inside and not very responsive.

IF your power ball make loud grinding nosie, you can do is sand the inside of the powerball with sand paper it makes to much of loud grinding nosie just becare not to over do it though. When opening you need to take the screw out and then push ball on hit surface on it side untill pops open.

However it is fairly additive especially when playing around with it. With friend to be there score but if people going to say yeah I STRONGER than you because swirl this plastic ball around faster than you might be a be suspect. Anyway as fun toy to play around with it great just don't think that going Make you a Superman or cure the you wrist of RSI when actually it will probably more likely to give you Repetive Strain Injury.

If you watch any of the actual video from the company it is pretty laughable, THIS POWERBALL GOing Change Your life maybe not today but when you became a Professional sports person or at musical gineus remeber to call the powerball team so they can use #YOU in there next ads. There are some good video on the net (not made by powerball).

Yeah this Product is fun. Good to have mates to beat them in rpm especially when they never used it before. If that going make you better person probably not.

5 out of 5 stars What a great piece of tech!   August 21, 2008

Long story short..GET ONE OF THESE

it is possibly the most amazing thing i have ever bought!

all you do is pull the ripcord after winding it up, and slowly rotate your hand, slowly speeding up while these amazing LED lights turn your living room into a club :)

once you get the hang of this, (if your persist) you will find you cannot stop...its just so addictive trying to beat other family member's highscores...we had great laughs, seeing as after we saw how great they were, we all got our own ones, so theres blue green and red lights flazing all around our living room as we compete for the highest revs!

i seriosuly advise this, i am a grade 9 drummer, so getting into quite advanced stuff, and i found that after using this for about 2 hours a day (the least i can do without wanting to go back for more!) for about 2 weeks, my drumming became much more precise, controlled and relaxed

i seriosly advise getting one of these, as once you've mastered the flow, you'll want another go!

3 out of 5 stars Not addictive   August 2, 2008

I found the Powerball quite easy to put down and forget all about. It does seem to give the wrist and forearm a kind of workout, but so would squeezing a rubber ball. Or one of those springy grip things that you can find in shops selling exercise equipment.

5 out of 5 stars Great for Idle Hands & Very Addictive   July 3, 2008

My motivation to purchase the Power Ball was to improve muscle in my forearms for golf and help top-up my fitness whilst sat on boring audio conferences at work. This leads me to the three clear reasons why you would purchase one of these:

1. it's great for muscle tone in your arms (fingers, wrists, forearm, biceps & triceps)
2. Moreover, it's very addictive and makes you very competitive (even if only with your own previous best) and, importantly
3. It is immensely fun

There have been a couple of poor reviews suggesting that the gyroscope doesn't spin for long, but they simply haven't worked out how to use it -the gyro will spin forever so long as you are turning the Power Ball using your wrist and the correct technique. It does take a few goes to understand, but once you've succeeded it becomes intuitive and extremely fulfilling.

Power Ball is one of my better purchases that, if truth be told, was done on impulse but is now used everyday when I'm around the house or sat at my desk.

One piece of advice is to get the 'Pro' versions that come with the digital counter and functions; it is much more rewarding when you can see your progress and it's worth the few pennies extra.

5 out of 5 stars Therapeutic and somewhat addictive!   June 13, 2008

I had one of my fingers broken and sustained some ligament damage late last year, i had been experiencing increasing discomfort and pain in my dominant hand, i assumed that i was destined to give up on cycling and climbing, then i stumbled upon Powerball on the Amazon site.

I have been using it now for about 2 months, wow what a difference, whether it is psychosomatic or not, my hand is almost fully recovered and the overall strength improvement in both hands and forearms is very noticeable.

If you are suffering with hand problems, i would recommend you give it a try, excellent and a bit of fun! I have had to buy another for my wife, to stop her using mine all the time!!!
