5 out of 5 stars Good Value for Money   November 16, 2008

After reading several reviews sites I decided to take the plunge. My old vacuum had just about had it.
The Vax Mach 7 arrived within two days. Assembly is only two screws for the handle. I was using it within minutes.
I found the noise level quite acceptable and the tools were adequate. Yes as others have said it's on the heavy-ish side, but I think that it gives it a reassuring feel of a solid well build machine. I was dismayed at the sheer amount of muck that started flying into the vacuum. Just goes to show you never know what's lucking on the floor. The only thing I would say is that there is too much suction when using the tools. The pipe tends to shrink because of the suction so you have to fight it out again. It would be nice if there was a control to alter the power of suction.

Overall I'm really happy with my purchase and at 99 it represents good value for money.

4 out of 5 stars Ultra Powerful Cleaning!   November 15, 2008

After having several upright Dysons which kept losing suction, I searched the internet to find an alternative. This one had the most positive reviews so I took a chance and bought it.
I have to say, I couldn't believe how well it cleaned my carpets. I'd vacuumed with my Dyson DC07 earlier that day and when this came I did it again and couldn't believe how much more dust was sucked up by the Mach 7. My carpets look like new! It looks well built, slightly on the heavy side, but not much more than my Dyson.
The only part that I can say has a downside is the plastic extention wands as, being used to the metal ones on the Dyson, seem a bit flimsy and not sturdy enough. The hose for the stairs could be a foot longer as it only just reaches the top step at a push, apart from that, I love this vacuum and I am really pleased I bought it.
With a six year guarantee, you can't go wrong, but make sure you register your extended 6 year guarantee within 28 days of purchase otherwise you just get a year's worth.

This machine has been selling at 1/2 price for a reason not only is it heavy and unwieldy but it causes damage to hard floors also there's no suction when not using the brushes, Best forgotten

5 out of 5 stars The Heavy Weight title goes to....   October 7, 2008

If you are looking for spotless cleaning then this vacuum may be for you, works brilliantly on carpets and hard floors alike and is well designed for the user. Be warned though as the mach 7 really is the heavy weight, when you have the vacuum on its lowest setting for the best cleaning it is very heavy to use and difficult to manoeuvre, but remember a little more weight might mean that it lasts a little longer.

All of the tools are well placed on the body of the Vax and the turbo tool is spot on for stairs and small rugs, also the extension wands, crevice and upholstery tools make easy work of the areas that you can't get the Vax its self; this is however necessary as the extra wide cleaning head of the Vax does limit the number of spaces that you can fit it (if you don't like to move your dining chairs while cleaning then you may want to measure up first)

All this being said I still think it worthy of 5 stars and all the pushing and pulling will just save you half an hour at the gym.

have had dysons since day one.the last one wouldnt shift my cats hairs.decided time for a change.discovered this vax and thought why not.well extremely impressed.my carpets aclually look a different colour.the hose is easily to hand so can get along the sirtings and under radiators really easily.it is really heavy though.to begin with felt like i had done 10 rounds with tyson.now im gettong used to it it doesnt feel so heavy.highly recommended, the price is an absolute steal.would never go back to the dyson range.this vax is brilliant.if in doubt my advice is go for it
