The Ultimate iPod Guide - updated version for 2008 - all iPods featured
Not long after buying the `The Rough Guide to iPods' (see review), I bought this, what I thought was an over-priced magazine, just out of interest.
Like the `Rough Guide', this magazine-style book covers everything from the absolute basics (all iPod models to date), iTines, iTunes Store, THE accessories you should have, how to connect your iPod to a HiFi, etc & help for when inevitably things go wrong. There is a very useful `tricks & tips' section. The `Master Class' section is also very good - it take you step-by-step through various projects (e.g. optimizing your iTunes library) & gives a very handy time estimate for carrying out each project. Another interesting section, especially for those of us who have not followed the evolution of the iPod, is `Everything iPod', which includes a timeline, a glossary of terms & iPod icons.
If there's a new version of this magazine published at the beginning of 2009 then I'll be right there to buy it.
If you want a companion volume to go with the `Rough Guide to the iPod' then this is it.
