Can't recommend it enough! May 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This little book was a god-send to a novice iPodder such as me. It covers everything from selecting & buying the most appropriate iPod, Shuffle or whatever for your requirements through connecting it to your PC (what spec PC do you need, etc), using iTunes & purchasing tracks & albums from the iTunes store & finally to what to do when things go horribly wrong, which eventually they will. I was a bit flummoxed by how to get the most from my iPod (Photo, 30GB) - it seemed that I'd paid an awful lot of money for a glorified data stick. However, having read this little gem of a book (& The Ultimate iPod Guide - see review) I'm discovering more & more about my iPod - I'd had it 18 months before I discovered that it had its own library of games & now I can download even more from the iTunes store!
My one regret is that I did not have this book when I bought my iPod so that I could have driven it to its full potential from day one instead of being slightly scared of it.
In summary, this book is great for iPod novices & techno-scared old biddies like me!
Perfect book for the iPod novice February 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My iPod is probably my the best money i have spent on anything in the last 3 years. I use it everyday in the car and also when i go walking.
My problem was getting to know how o use it correctly and also to its full capacity. The book that come with your iPod is very vague and i needed a little more to help me understand the Ipod and what it could do.
This book did not let me down and quickly got me using my iPod more efficiently and for far more than i ever would have done.
If your thinking of getting a iPod this book will help no end.
So useful... February 28, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought this book before owning an i-pod. It is superbly written, and will come into its own when I finally buy one! Doesnt spend too much time on the real basics but goes in depth and detail into the many options available to i-pod users, how to use i-tunes,and continually gives countless hints, tips and short-cuts to really get the most from the pod. Excellent value at under a fiver.
Highly recommended little guide June 21, 2006 29 out of 29 found this review helpful
I bought this on a whim at the airport and couldn't put it down until I had read it all. It is packed with a lot of useful information for both iTunes and the iPod, and answered a lot of questions I had found myself asking while using iTunes and my iPod (i.e. what is a smart playlist and what good is it? Can I set my own equalizer levels for individual songs? Is there a way to transfer music from my iPod to a computer?). There are also many links included for exploring topics further. It's size also makes it easy to carry around for reference. One of my best impulse buys.
This is better than the Apple guide December 4, 2005 50 out of 51 found this review helpful
My wife bought me this, almost pocket size although 232 page, book as a present when I purchased an iPod 60Gb. It is brilliant. I refer to it far more than the Apple guide that comes with iTunes. It is packed with useful information, well written and straight forward. Anything you need to know about your iPod is here!
