Jacques the peacock November 5, 2008 Bought Jacques the peacock last week for my 18 week old grandson Jack he loves the bright colours and the crinkley sounds, look forward to buying others in the Lamaze range, thank you Amazon.
fascinating toy November 5, 2008 Wee boy loves this toy. It is a constant source of fascination to him, especially the colourful, crinkly wings. We hang it from the infant seat in the car, so he can kick at it, and it keeps him completely entertained until sleep catches up. Great value for money - at six months, he still enjoys it, and as an added bonus it also stands up well to teething!

Jacques the Peacock - baby entertainment! September 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Lamaze have a wide range of items for babies which all seem to work well. Jacques the Peacock contains a wide range of colours, rattles, patterns and textures etc to stimulate baby and keep him interested. The back of his wings are black and white - easy colours for baby to focus on in the early days. When baby is a little older he'll be interested in the front of the wings - they contain different fabric textures, and one wing has a squeaker, one has a rattle, one has a mirror and the fourth one has different fabric inserts on it. There are 'taggie' ribbons around the rattle which babies seem to find fascinating. The large clip means that Stretch can be attached to a pushchair, baby gym etc to keep baby occupied. My 16 week old little boy loves him - even just holding on to him. Highly recommended, 5 stars.
Lamaze-ing peacock June 28, 2008 I have bought this toy for my daughter when she was around 7 weeks old and have initially hanged it so that she could see the back of the toy - it is made of a round red base with black and white patterns on the four "wings" and resembles a half-flower with four petals. The black and white high-contrast patterns are great for the younger babies, so my daughter spent many happy hours fascinated by it and just hitting the toy with her fist.
At around 10 weeks she was able to turn the peacock around and reveal the side full of colour. Then came the textures - there are plenty of "bits" for the little hands to catch. It seems that there is no end to her finding enjoyment in this toy as she discovers different features step by step (she still hasn't discovered the squeaker and the rattle). At 3 months now, she is trying to put it in her mouth whenever I unhook it, however I think that it works best hanged nearby as it is quite large and covers her entire face when played with.
Overall this is one of the best toys I bought for my daughter so far and she plays with it for long spells of time daily. It is of Lamaze quality (i.e. top) and very cleverly designed to appeal to a growing baby throught different stages of development.
