LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures takes the fun and creative construction of LEGO and combines it with the wits, daring and non-stop action from the original cinematic adventures that enthralled audiences everywhere (Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade). With a unique tongue-in-cheek take on the original adventures, LEGO Indiana Jones follows Dr. Jones escapades through the jungles of South America to the mountaintops of India. Fans can build, battle and brawl their way through their favorite cinematic moments, from Indy's entanglements with snakes to his dashing boulder run.

Of course, pop culture's most iconic archeologist will whip through all the classic moments with the help of a host of supporting characters including Marion Ravenwood and Short Round. Players can also mix and match the body parts of more than 60 playable characters to create new heroes just as they could in the best-selling LEGO Star Wars games.

4 out of 5 stars Lego brought into the 21st century!   November 10, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

Over this last month my household has been enersed in the world of lego. A firm family favourite when i was a child many moons ago has had a digital reconditioning. No longer is it a fiddly mess of hundreds of peices now its joystick controlled immense fun!

Indianna Jones is a classic film and lego has done it justice, Its great to wander through the various films as the differing characters breaking up everything in sight. For the children the game is colourful, the difficulty is prgressive so they wont get swamped and the controls are easy to learn although take a while to master.

For the adults among us you can aid your child in his or her quest via the co-operative multiplayer making it enjoyable and much easier as a team. The Levels arent too long, although there are numerous possibilities in collection of coins, hearts and the breaking of various villans.

The game is however the shortest of the Lego styled games, but by any means its not short for a platform game. The only downside is the camera angle, a side on view often obscures the characters from view and as a result you might find it a tad frustrating in places.

Overall its a good way to entertain all ages for hours on end!

5 out of 5 stars Great fun for kids   August 24, 2008

I brought this game for my two boys who are both under 7 and they absolutely love it.

The game is obviously aimed at kids as the difficult level so far has been about right for my eldest. The levels are great fun as they can run around, collect coins, destroy things and occasionally solve the puzzles. With the free play option, all the chapters can be played over again and will enable your kids to search for the secret treasure, etc.

The graphics although not spectacular really do suit the game which I think does add to the feel. There are also little things that make my kids laugh, like Indy cowering when he goes near snakes. The one point I have against the game is that it only saves at the end of the chapter. But this is only minor as I can get through a chapter in 10 minutes(ish)

I have to say that if you are after a game for kids this has got to be a must.

4 out of 5 stars Good game   August 12, 2008
Lego Indiana jones is a great game for the ps3. The graphics are quite good, but you cant exactly have millions of different tones on a lego piece. This game s great for the younger ages especially, considering there arent really many games out on the playstation 3 for the younger ages. Overall the qualtiy and level designs look great. the idea that you can work as a team also adds to the speciality off this game.
Would reccommend.

3 out of 5 stars Great nostalgia trip ...   July 30, 2008
This is a great game, which mangages to fit the Lego Star Wars formula to the Indy films seamlessly. It also provides enjoyable nostalgia for those who have watched the films over the decades and the humour is welcome. The levels and gameplay are varied and there is the obvious huge benefit of massive replayability. Yet I only have rated it 3 stars and the following is why...

1. I've played the PSP version which is virtually identical except for the graphics. Perhaps the PS3 version could have included some more extras?
2. The camera sometimes means that you cannot line up your jumps accurately - surely this is unforgivable for platform games in this day and age? maybe some limited camera control or more forgiving jumps (such as in Uncharted)would have been useful?
3. Lego Star Wars (PS3) included all 6 movies and loads of extras. The content of Lego Indy seems woefully lacking in comparison.
4. it seems to me that Lego indy is just a little too easy compared to Lego Star Wars when collecting the bonuses. You can usually become a True Adventurer half way through a level and if you don't find an artifact piece then you can just buy it!!

Other than these issues the Lego platforming concept is stll a genius idea that works well for Indy and they certainly haven't stopped me playing it or recommending it to others!

4 out of 5 stars Good fun but not as good as star wars   July 12, 2008
I have recently bought this as I am a big fan of Lego Star Wars. Its a good game but doesnt really add much to the existing franchise. Its great to have some fresh levels and characters to get stuck into and there are some nice touches but it doesnt bring anything new. It is however, great fun for all ages and backgrounds. Its definitely worth buying, especially if you enjoy Indi films and the star wars lego game.
