Don't buy this item! Don't buy Broderbund products! August 25, 2008

It seems that with each 'improvement' in the Mavis Beacon series, users are less and less able to customise the product! In this useless version, I found to my horror that I couldn't customise the product to accept a British layout keyboard! I tried to contact Broderbund, the otiose company that puts out this rubbish, but the one thing that their web site's Contact Us page doesn't do, is provide an email address, or telephone number!
I bought this product because I had bought an earlier version of Mavis Beacon (version 12) from Broderbund online, but because I'd had to reinstall my operating system, I had apparently lost my right to use the product because the registration key stopped working!!! (Remember, contacting this cowboy company is next to impossible?) Consequently, having no idea that I was sending these clowns yet more hard-earned money, I sent for version 20.
Well, thank goodness, I am able to take advantage of Amazon's wonderful `return the crappy product to the crappy company` policy. However, I strongly advise you to avoid all the palaver in the first place by getting a hold of ANY OTHER TYPING TUTOR BUT MAVIS BEACON and buying from ANY OTHER COMPANY BUT BRODERBUND! If you don't listen to me, you'll be sorry!
